In the recently enacted Commerce-Justice-Science (CJS) minibus, Congress provided $1 million to establish two new Coral Reef Research Coordination Institutes—the Atlantic Coral Reef Research Coordination Institute and the Pacific Coral Reef Research Coordination Institute. Each institute will receive $500,000 to begin their critical work protecting and restoring coral reef ecosystems.
